Skilled Construction Laborer

WHAT OUR ORGANIZATION IS PROVIDING

  1. Hourly Range: $23.60 – $25 DOE
  2. Health Insurance

  4. Sick Leave – Max 6 days (48 hours) per year calendar year.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  1. Taking ownership of Rusin’s “Core Values.”
  2. Complying with safety standards and be aware of all surroundings.
  3. Setting the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth and align them.
  4. Checking the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
  5. Spreading, leveling, and smoothing concrete using rake, shovel, hand/power trowel, hand/power screed and float.
  6. Monitoring how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
  7. Producing rough concrete surface using a broom.
  8. Molding expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
  9. Cleaning chipped area, using wire brush and feeling and observing the surface to determine if it is rough or uneven.
  10. Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete and waterproof or restore surface.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION

  1. Minimum one (1) year general construction experience.
  2. Ability to use all types of hand tools.
  3. Ability to create effective working relationships with employees and the public.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. May be expected to travel out of town to work on projects.
  2. May usually work irregular hours and often work early mornings, weekends, shift work and possibly be on call. Generally, work longer hours in summer.
  3. Work in all weather conditions such as noisy, wet, cold, hot, dirty, windy and dusty environments.
  4. While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to reach with hands and arms and frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk, use of hands and fingers, material handling, operate tools and equipment. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  5. Frequently lift and /or move up to 120 pounds.
  6. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
