Full-Time Phlebotomist

Location: Chicago, IL

Pay: $23.00/hr + $4.93 for Health & Welfare

Schedule:

– Full-Time: Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM + rotating weekends
– Part-Time: Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 8:30 AM + rotating weekends

Position Overview:
We are hiring Phlebotomists (full-time and part-time) to support a healthcare facility’s laboratory team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely, accurate specimen collection and data entry into the lab system, contributing to efficient patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:

– Perform venipuncture and capillary draws, including blood cultures and compatibility samples.
– Accession specimens for testing and enter data into the laboratory systems.
– Assist patients with the collection of at-home specimens (e.g., urine).
– Record and prepare samples for analysis.
– Transport specimens and manage chain-of-custody procedures as needed.
– Handle phone calls, retrieve lab orders, and assist with front desk duties.
– Maintain drawing room inventory and adhere to infection control protocols.
– Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

– High school diploma or equivalent.
– Minimum 1 year of recent phlebotomy experience.
– Phlebotomy certification preferred.
– BLS (CPR) certification from AHA or equivalent required.
– Computer literacy and strong communication skills required.
– Familiarity with healthcare systems such as VISTA, CPRS, or Oracle Cerner is a plus.
