Schedule:
– Full-Time: 12-hour shifts (Morning and Midday rotations)

Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to support acute care and medical-surgical inpatient units. CNAs in this role will assist registered nurses in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring safety within hospital settings. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities including personal care, clinical support, diagnostic procedures, and continuous patient monitoring.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as feeding, walking, dressing, turning, lifting, and hygiene
– Measure and document vital signs; report significant changes in condition
– Assist in diagnostic and treatment procedures, including lumbar punctures, liver biopsies, and bone marrow exams
– Label, prepare, and transport specimens to laboratories while maintaining chain-of-custody
– Support respiratory therapy procedures, including oxygen, suction, chest therapy, and postural drainage
– Provide basic life support (BLS) measures as needed
– Document patient status and support admission procedures
– Conduct inventory checks at patient admission and throughout hospitalization
– Perform contraband searches and routine safety assessments in mental health units
– Escort mental health patients to and from scheduled appointments

Minimum Qualifications:
– At least 2 years of CNA experience, including a minimum of 6 months in an acute medical-surgical unit
– Ability to function with minimal supervision, escalating concerns to RNs as necessary
– Proven experience in patient condition monitoring, diagnostic assistance, and emergency response
– Excellent teamwork and communication skills in collaboration with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams

Required Certifications:
– Current CNA certification from any U.S. state
– Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Acceptable Alternatives:
– Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification/license
– Intermediate Care Technician (ICT) certification/license
