Job Purpose

The Vice President of Finance provides strategic financial leadership for Rusin Concrete

Construction, overseeing all accounting and financial operations. This role ensures the financial

health and integrity of the company by directing financial planning, reporting, and compliance

activities while partnering with executive leadership to drive business performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Accounting/Finance

Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company

policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning,

assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews and

addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash

disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual

inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting.

• Oversee the quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports.

Income tax reporting provided to CPA. Working with CPA to prepare Federal and State

income tax reports for shareholders.

• Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial reports.

• Responsible for preparing financial budgets and assure financial plans are consistent

with organizational goals.

• Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company operations or special projects,

programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc.

• Interface with outside banks and lessors, insurance company(s), credit card companies,

collection agencies, CPA and attorney(s).

• Participate in management team to help develop Vision goals.

• Best Practices – Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals.

Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to

maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.

• Assure all departments’ job descriptions are complete and reviewed as needed.

• Oversee IT operations and software evaluation and implementation.

• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Degree (BS or BA) in Accounting or Finance. Ten or more years’ equivalent experience.

CPA preferred.

• Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

• Knowledge and experience with accounting for and reporting of job costs, costs in

excess of billings, billings in excess of costs, revenue and cost of sales, using the

percent complete method of accounting.

• Detailed knowledge and experience with payroll rules and regulations and compliance

with all reporting requirements including the Affordable Care Act.

• Experienced with the installation of policies and procedures and systems to streamline

work flow and improve timeliness of reporting.

• Experience and capability of supervising an accounting department of a staff of four or

more, to include periodic reviews.

• Strong skills in understanding Excel, Crystal Reports and other reporting tools.

• Experience and capability in managing the income tax planning and compliance of the

company and related entities in conjunction with the outside accounting firm.

• Must be capable of cash flow planning, capital equipment tracking and planning.

• Effective and persuasive presentation skills on controversial or complex topics to top

management, public groups and/or board of directors.

• Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.

• Knowledge of business and management principles and practices.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office setting. May work some unusual hours according to

business needs.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands

and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand; talk or hear; walk; and use hands to

finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required

to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee may at times lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required

by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception

and the ability to adjust focus.
